Shea Fox is passionate about working with people and animals. His journey started with applying for a Dog Training Apprenticeship at a local pet store. Before becoming an official Trainer, he spent a lot of time learning how to care for many animals, including: fish, reptiles, birds, hamsters, cats, and dogs. Finally, the time had come to learn how to actually train dogs. He was sent to Kentucky to meet with his Dog Training Mentor, Amanda. She passed down the companies training techniques and taught him how to observe body language and to imagine all the possibilities when working with dogs. Most importantly she taught him the value of Positive Reinforcement. Using this technique, Shea understood that a dog can be taught ANYTHING with the right motivation. Graduating from Apprentice to Dog Trainer, he returned to his hometown to start building his reputation. In 8 months, he had people driving from over an hour away every week to work with their pets. They saw the dedication he had to learn and then teach. His sales and expertise caught the attention of a group of corporate employees and was invited to a week-long trial to be a training mentor. Shea jumped at the opportunity knowing this was his dream. He flew to corporate headquarters in San Antonio, Texas where he met other people with his same qualities. Here he learned how to build and manage a business. All the trainer from around the country shared their techniques they discovered. He was taught the importance and the science behind positive training. Successfully completing the program with his peers, he once again returned home to inspire his co-workers and friends with his knowledge. He was assigned mentors to train and send them back to their respective stores. Shea had worked hard to get where he was and was proud of his achievement. Suddenly, he was reprimanded for an incident that he had no knowledge he was doing something wrong. But unfortunately, the incident reached his corporate trainers. He was then told he had to separate from the company, but he could return the following day. Instead, he found a part time job and was conducting training in his down time. People started sharing the success he was accompanied with, and his business thrived, even during unprecedented times. Which brings us to today where Fox and the Hounds is establishing business attributes, setting goals and providing a service to its community in order to contribute to a better life for people and pets together.
